19th-century Antique Bone 'Leopard' Bobbin with spangle, nibbled head (our ref W4)

£10.00

A 19th-century midlands lace ‘leopard’ bobbin hand-turned from bone. It has pewter spot decoration, and so is usually called a pewter leopard bobbin.

The head has a small nibble on one side and the tail is complete with no chips or defects. The overall condition is commensurate with its age. It has an antique spangle. We do not add or change spangles on antique bobbins, and so this is the spangle the bobbin had when it came to us.

The bobbin measures 84mm long (excluding spangle) and c.5mm in diameter (widest section).
